Barbados has a national soccer, cricket, and volleyball team.
The Barbados national futból team or American soccer, nicknamed Bajan Pride, is the national association football team of Barbados and is controlled by the Barbados Futból Association. The Barbados national soccer team has never qualified for a major international tournament such as the FIFA World Cup or Copa América (South American Futból Championship). The Barbadian cricket team is the representative first class cricket team of Barbados. The team does not take part in any international competitions, but they do participate in inter-regional competitions in the Caribbean, such as the West Indies' Professional Cricket League. The best players in Barbados are selected to play in international championships, but are only taken if they are very good. The Barbados men's national volleyball team represents Barbados in international volleyball competitions, that can take place anywhere in the world. The Barbados national volleyball team is the only team in Barbados that make it into international competitions. The dominant forces in men's volleyball in North and Central America that Barbados have suffered many losses to are Cuba and the United States. |
