Top Ten Sights To See In Germany
1. Berlin Wall I think that people would want to visit the Berlin Wall because it is the last remaining piece of the original Berlin Wall. This makes it very important for Germany’s past. Also because it is the last piece, I think it would be interesting to go visit.
2. Brandenburg Gate I think people would want to go to the Brandenburg Gate because it represents the unity of Germany. This makes it very important to Berlin and all of Germany. It would also be a good place for people to go if they wanted to remember Germany’s tough history. This is because it is the only gate in Berlin that is left from when East and West Berlin were separated. 3. Sanssouci Castle I think that people would want to visit the Sanssouci Palace because it looks very pretty in pictures so it must look even more beautiful in real life. Not only is the palace pretty but the garden around it is beautiful. A variety of plants grow in the garden from flowers to even vegetables. 4. Cologne Cathedral I think people would want to visit the cologne cathedral because of the gothic architecture. This might not interest all people, but I still think it will interest a lot. Another reason why people might want to visit here is that it was built very long ago. The construction for the cathedral started all the way back in 1248. Many buildings today aren’t even close to that old so visiting a building that old could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. 5. Museum Island I think people would want to visit Museum Island because it is surrounded by a body of water which makes it seem cool. If people were interested about more besides how it looked on the outside, they might want to visit it because of the beautiful artwork from all around the world. This artwork can be found throughout all of the five different museums that are within Museum Island. Also, since there are so many museums, there is a variety of different things you can see there then besides just artwork. 6. Heidelberg Castle I think that people would want to visit the Heidelberg Castle because each of it’s several buildings represents a different type of architecture that was found in Germany. This is good for people with families of young kids or people who just do not want to travel to different places to see different architecture. Not only does it allow people to see all the architecture at once but by doing this they are able to compare the different architectures with each other and possibly decide which one they like the best. 7. Zugspitze I think people would want to Visit Zugspitze Mountain because it is the highest peak of the Wetterstein Mountains. It is also the highest mountain in Germany. The elevation of this mountain is 9,718 feet! I don’t think I would go here because I am afraid of heights but for someone who isn’t afraid of heights, I think it would be a very cool and fun opportunity. 8. Neuschwanstein Castle I think people would want to see the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany because it is called “the castle of the fairy-tale king”. It is called this because the reason it was built was so that King Ludwig II could get away from the public and be alone. I think the fact that it was called this makes it different and stand out from other castles. 9. Dresden Frauenkirche I think that people would want to see the Dresden Frauenkirche church because it represents how Germany overcame and grew from World War II. This is because it was destroyed by many bombs during the war but was still rebuilt afterwards. Whether people want to remember the war or not, it is still apart of their past and I think this building shows them that they should not be ashamed of it and instead they should try their hardest to show the world how they overcame it. 10. Loreley I think that people should visit the Loreley because it is a big part of German culture. This is because there is a legend that a siren named Loreley would sit on the rock and sing and brush her hair. While she was doing this her amazing voice and beauty would distract sailors and they wouldn't pay attention to currents. Because of this they would crash into the rocks and their boats would become destroyed. |
